The Saint John Neumann Council was chartered on March 12, 1992.

The Knights of Columbus has four basic principles:  Charity, Unity, Fraternalism, and Patriotism with Charity being the most important.  The SJN Council takes these principles to heart and makes every effort to address as many charitable needs as it can. Our council provides a vast array of charitable support to our members, the parish and its ministries, our community, and the Catholic Church.

First, and foremost, we are here to support our priests, deacons and seminarians, and to serve in many capacities. That is why when the clergy requests help, we show up in full force so they can continue to rely on the Knights as their right arm.  We also firmly believe in the value of our non-monetary contributions to the community, as we support with our time and talents many worthy programs and organizations, including the SJN parish, Marywood, Habitat for Humanity and the Austin State School.  During the 2006-2007 fraternal year, our Council contributed $169,849 to charitable causes and provided thousands of hours to volunteer service.  The Knights of Columbus as an international organization volunteered over 68 million hours of service in 2007.  The Council greatly appreciates the support we receive from the parish in helping us meet our Charity goals.

We have a Business meeting and a Social every month.

The Business meeting is held on the first Thursday of the month and is open to current members of any Knights of Columbus council.  These meetings start at 7:30 p.m. A Rosary is usually prayed prior to the meeting, starting at 7:15 p.m.  Our meetings are held in the St. Timothy Room located in the east end of the Pastoral Center at 5455 Bee Cave Road at Red Bud Trail.  Here we have displayed many of our Council Awards, Council Charter, and other information.

Our Socials are open to all members, their families and our guests.  Many are open to all members of the parish.  Our socials are usually scheduled for the third Thursday of the month.  Refer to the Members or Calendar pages for updated dates, times and locations.

For Fourth Degree members, the Bishop Louis J. Reicher Assembly 1099 meets at the St. Ignatius Church Annex on the second Monday of each month at 7:00 PM.  Contact Kenneth McFall for more information.
